Raw pepitas come from the inside of the pumpkin seeds. Small and green in colour, they have a mild nutty flavour and are a good nutritious snack. Sprinkle with them in your favourite soup, salad, muesli or breakfast cereal or use for baking. Pepitas are high in protein, along with some valuable minerals such as magnesium, manganese, copper, zinc and iron. Like most seeds and nuts, they contain predominantly polyunsaturated fat and being a plant food contain no cholesterol.
